Coronavirus has had a big impact on Caribbean Tourism which is a significant part of the economies of this group of islands.

Coronavirus Cases in the Caribbean

Firstly, while the population of the islands mean that the absolute numbers of infections and deaths is not great, on another basis many of the islands have a high infection rate per head of population. Saint Martin, Guadeloupe and Turks and Caicos Islands all feature high up on this metric with 1800 – 1900 cases per 100k people. This has led to some governments advising against all but essential travel.

Quarantine on Arrival in the Caribbean

For those islands still accepting tourists, it is often a requirement to quarantine and undertake testing until you receive a negative result. While deterring some tourists, a Caribbean holiday is often long-haul and still allows a reasonable duration for your holiday.
